As Oceanside Perspective continues to celebrate our third anniversary, we’re beyond thrilled to mark this milestone by welcoming Benjamin Lyon aboard our Board of Directors!
Since OP's founding, Benjamin has actively supported our mission of L.I.T.E. Beyond Generations, sharing insights on our podcast and presenting on L.I.T.E. Talk. As an expert in innovative technologies, Benjamin will help to guide OP's future direction and enhance our educational offerings. Benjamin is a visionary engineering leader behind some of the world’s most advanced technologies. With over two decades at Apple, he helped lead the development and productization of critical tech, and co-founded the company’s autonomous systems initiative. He later brought his expertise to Astra Space, where he oversaw satellite launches, and Aptiv, where he served as CTO. Today, Benjamin serves as the President of Aircraft OEM at Archer Aviation. Currently, Archer is developing electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircrafts, with the goal of solving urban air mobility: faster, safer, and with zero emissions. Their pioneering work on these vehicles is set to make a massive lasting impact on the future of transportation and aviation!

Team Field Trip to Archer Aviation
On our team field trip to Silicon Valley, we had the exciting privilege of visiting and filming in Archer Aviation’s Iron Bird Lab! We toured their cutting-edge facility, met members of their incredible engineering and production team, and filmed our intergenerational interview.
A big thank you to Sarai Garcia for your hard work in researching, scripting, and conducting this interview, as well as your dedication to volunteering with us over the years! OP strives to provide young, aspiring professionals like Sarai with real-world opportunities to practice learning by doing and bridge generations.
